Hurricane Gustav officially made landfall at 9:30am CDT (1430 UTC), Labor Day, September 1, 2008 near Cocodrie, LA, about 70 miles southwest of New Orleans or 100 miles southeast of Lafayette, LA. Intensity of the storm at landfall was Category 2 with 110 mph wind and central pressure of 955 mb (28.20 in). Radar from New Orleans and visible satellite image at time of landfall are below.
