Even though a "cool front" is moving through the region today, the only "sensible" effects will be a wind shift and a reduction in humidity values. Very little, if any, rain will fall with this system, other than the brief light rain that fell early this morning across parts of the metro and did nothing to help relieve abnormally dry conditions.
Friday's temperature will be slightly cooler (near 90), but by this weekend temperatures will once again soar into the mid to upper 90s. The difference between this heat and the heat we experienced in August will be much lower humidity, which means upper 90s will feel like upper 90s and not 110-120! If the projected highs in the 97-99 degree range do occur, we'll be looking at records falling again from Sunday through the middle of next week. Here's a look at record temperatures that could be in jeopardy:
Sunday, Sept. 19 - 97 F
Monday, Sept. 20 - 98 F
Tuesday, Sept. 21 - 95 F
Wednesday, Sept. 22 - 95 F
Thursday, Sept. 23 - 95 F
