...ANOTHER ROUND OF WINTRY WEATHER IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE MID-SOUTH THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT...

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE INTO THE MID-SOUTH THURSDAY RESULTING IN YET ANOTHER ROUND OF WINTRY WEATHER ACROSS THE AREA. PRECIPITATION WILL LIKELY BEGIN AS RAIN ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA. THEN FALL OFF QUICKLY AFTER THE FRONT. MANY LOCATIONS WILL REACH THEIR DAILY HIGHS BEFORE NOON.

AS COLD AIR DIVES SOUTH INTO THE REGION THURSDAY AFTERNOON... RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW WITH A POSSIBLE BRIEF PERIOD OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN. THIS CHANGEOVER WILL CONTINUE ACROSS NORTH MISSISSIPPI THURSDAY EVENING BEFORE THE STORM MOVES INTO THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS. SOME ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS ALL OF THE MID-SOUTH ALTHOUGH THE GREATEST ACCUMULATIONS WILL LIKELY BE NORTH OF INTERSTATE FORTY. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MAY BE REQUIRED. SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE SIGNIFICANT AT THIS TIME. THERE IS STILL SOME LINGERING UNCERTAINTY WITH THIS SYSTEM... MAINLY WITH PRECIPITATION TYPES AND THE TIMING OF THE CHANGEOVER. STAY TUNED TO LATER FORECASTS AND PRODUCTS FROM THE NWS AND MEMPHISWEATHER.NET FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION.
