Gorgeous weather for Easter weekend, then storms on Monday

A quick blog post on this fine Friday morning. Cold weather appears to be gone for the spring, though we expect some lows in the 40s to be possible over the next few weeks. Today we're on the backside of a strong Gulf low pressure system that is bringing rain to the southeast U.S. and storms to Florida, but I'll be surprised if we see a shower today.

Latest regional radar loop from the NWS
Clouds depart tonight, setting up a sunny and very pleasant day on Saturday as temperatures climb from the 50s for your early Easter egg hunts to the mid 70s in the afternoon. A northeast breeze will feel rather nice, but don't be surprised if you get a little sunburn if you're out for a couple of hours tomorrow. Use sunscreen if that will be the case as the mid-April sun is pretty strong! (I got a bit of a burn last Saturday being out for about 2 hours early in the afternoon.)

A mild night is on tap Saturday night and a great day expected for Easter Sunday! Clouds will be on the increase ahead of the next weather-maker moving in Monday, but sunrise services should not be overly chilly (lows in the mid 50s) and a sweater will be sufficient over those nice sundresses on the girls and ladies Sunday morning! The rest of the day will be great for cookouts or other outdoor activities as highs might touch 80 in the afternoon then drop through the 70s in the evening. Despite some clouds, sunscreen is also a good idea Sunday afternoon. Overall, you've got to love a Significant Weather Outlook that looks like this for a holiday weekend:

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be kind enough to hold off until we head back to work Monday and it's possible it will be afternoon and evening before they arrive. We're watching for the prospects of strong storms but right now things don't look too bad. Showers and thunderstorms will move out by Tuesday morning it appears and the next system isn't due in until late in the week. Most of the week will be spent in the 70s to near 80 for highs and 50s for lows - pretty close to normal for mid/late April! Click here for the official MWN Forecast that takes us through next week.

Happy Easter to all our followers, fans, and friends!
